How to change your browser's cookie settings

Below are instructions for finding the cookie settings in most major browsers. Please let us know if any of these descriptions are incorrect.

Internet Explorer 7

Click on the Tools popup-menu
Click on the Internet Options item in the menu
Click on the Privacy tab near the top of the window

Internet Explorer 6

Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu
Click on the "Privacy" tab

Internet Explorer 5

Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu
Click on the "Security" tab
Click the "Custom Level" button
Scroll down to the "Cookies" section

Internet Explorer 4

Select "Internet Options" from the View menu
Click on the "Advanced" tab
Scroll down to find "Cookies" within the "Security" section

Firefox 2 (Windows)

Select the Tools menu, and select Options
Then select the Privacy tab

Firefox 2 (Mac)

Select the Firefox menu, and select Preferences
Then select the Privacy tab

Firefox 2 (Linux)

Select the Edit menu, and select Preferences
Then select the Privacy tab

Firefox 1

Go to the "Tools" menu
Select "Options"
Select the "Privacy" icon in the left panel

Netscape 7

Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu
Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" in the scrolling window to expand
Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies"

Netscape 6 and 4

Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu
Find the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category

Safari

Click on the Safari menu
Click on the Preferences... item in the menu
Click on the Security icon near the top of the window

AOL 9

From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings
Select Internet [Web] Options
Select Use your Internet Explorer Settings to set advanced browser options
Select the Privacy tab
Select Advanced

From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings
Select Preferences
Select Internet Properties (WWW)
Select the Privacy tab
Select Advanced

AOL 7 with IE 6

From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings
Select Preferences
Select Internet Properties (WWW)

From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings
Select Preferences

Select the Security tab
Select the Custom Level tab

From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings

Go to My AOL
Pick WWW
Click the Security tab
Go to Custom Level

Click on Preferences
Select the WWW button
Click on the Advanced tab

Opera

Click on the Tools-menu
Click on the Preferences... item in the menu
Click on the Privacy selection near the bottom left of the window

Lynx

Press O for Options
Look for General Preferences and Cookies

Konqueror

Click on the Settings menu
Click on the Configure Konqueror... item in the menu
Click on Cookies on the left side
